Diamond Mountain District

Established in 2001 on the slopes above Calistoga, Diamond Mountain takes its name from flecks of obsidian and volcanic glass embedded in its well-drained volcanic soils. Vineyards climb from 400 to 2,000 feet, and the resulting Cabernet Sauvignon — often blended with Merlot, Malbec, or Petit Verdot — is prized for a density and age-worthiness that mountain fruit here has built a quiet reputation on.
