Chiles Valley District

Tucked behind Howell Mountain and approved in 1999, Chiles Valley is an isolated pocket 600 to 1,200 feet up, cooled at night despite its inland remove from the bay. Its patchwork of volcanic soils, weathered sandstone, and shale supports old-vine Zinfandel alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, wines with a rustic, structured character distinct from the valley floor below.
